My first ever present, at the age of 1, was a little pony. As a child I never had dolls, only ponies.
My love for horses didn't end there, I started riding and eventually my parents bought me a horse. And then another.
Now, I have four horses and I am a qualified vet, hoping to specialize in horses!
As my mum says: "Look what my little pony started..."
New ponies started to appear in the shop shelves, I first saw Christmas Minty and it triggered my want for my childhood ponies again. Unfortunately the dogs had destroyed some of my oldest ponies, but I was able to recover some of them.
I started checking out websites about My Little Pony, but I had no idea there were different ponies from different countries. I bought on Ebay the collector pose ponies and showed them to my mum. I asked her: "Which of these was my first pony?"
She looked at them closely and said: "These are similar, but yours had eyes that opened and closed."
"That's impossible, mum." I said. But my mum has an incredible memory, and she loved the ponies just as much as I do. I did some research and found out my ponies weren't quite regular, in fact, most of them were Spanish. Even though I am British, I was born and I live in Spain.
Then, one day, I saw a piggy pony, and memories flooded back. My mum was right! My first pony was a Piggy Bluebelle, and I had some more, unfortunately now dissapeared and destroyed by the dogs!
A year on, I am a proper My Little Pony collector. My goals: recover my childhood collection!
I'd like to thank my wonderful boyfriend for taking some of the photos. He isn't a fan of My Little Pony but he comes pony hunting with me, he listens to me going on about them and manages to take gorgeous pictures of them!
I would also like to thank my mum who has made collecting so much fun for me! She has recently gone into collecting herself, although she gives all the ones she buys to me, and she eggs me on, buys me ponies and keeps an eye on ebay when I don't have time!
